Have you ever wondered what are the costs involved when hiring a cleaning company?

Whether it’s for char services, regular domestic services, spring cleaning, pre/post occupational cleaning (moving in or out cleaning) etc.

Cleaning is something that no one want’s to do… but also a very unappreciative job, something nobody notices until you haven’t done any…

With this post we hope to shed some light on how much cleaning services cost and why.

1. Char Services – From R280.00 – R350 p/d

Char services is hiring a domestic helper on occasion for the day depending on whether your regular help will be back at work or you don’t need someone permanently to work for you. Your regular helper may be on leave or unavailable and you just need a replacement until they report back to work.

Instead of getting an individual from the street, who may or may not have a criminal record, is not trained on proper domestic service delivery, may steal from your home – or just check it out for a robbery – you get a professional domestic helper that is reference checked, police cleared, trained and motivated to deliver the best service possible.

We believe that a well paid employee is motivated and upholds a high quality of service.

2. Regular Domestic Cleaning Services – From R190.00 – R350.00 p/d

Regular Domestic Cleaning Services is having the same domestic helper every week, for as many days as you require. You are protected in every legal aspect (CCMA cases, labour court etc.)

We as the cleaning company take all the responsibility on us – with this we also maintain the legal admin of the domestic helper such as contracts, disciplinary action, payslips, leave registers, UIF etc. the domestic helper receives full domestic training with refresher training every 6 – 12 months. We supply the domestic helper with uniform, subsidize their traveling, do all their reference checks, do criminal background checks, do regular spot checks to ensure consistent quality of work and supply you with a substitute domestic helper, should your domestic helper be off sick or on leave.

Please keep in mind that prices are based on the number of days you require per week and also on whether it is a weekday, weekend or public holiday.

3. Spring Cleaning – From R1450.00

Spring Cleaning is a top to bottom DEEP clean of your home. This cleaning includes washing of all windows and window frames inside and outsied, washing of all walls, cleaning of light fixtures and ceiling fans, deep clean and disinfect of all bathrooms, deep clean and disinfect of the kitchen, cleaning out of kitchen cupboards (wash, disinfect and repack), deep cleaning of the stove and oven, moving of all furniture to clean underneath and behind it, cleaning of floors, skirtings and corners of the rooms, scrubbing (with a toothbrush) your cabinet hinges, light switches, power outlets, window frames, door handles etc.

This is a basic list of what gets done ALL in 1 day – this is not a normal domestic cleaning. These are the tasks that your domestic worker rarely gets done, if ever. The price of a Spring Cleaning includes: 2 – 6 team members (depending on the size of your home), 1 – 2 supervisors, all chemicals, all equipment, all tools and traveling.

The price charged for a spring cleaning will depend on the number of bedrooms and other areas in your home. A standard package includes: the number of bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living areas and the kitchen. Extra areas such as studies, extra lounges, bar areas, garages, bathrooms etc. is also charged at an additional cost.

4. Pre/Post Occupational Cleaning From R1550.00

Pre or Post Occupational cleaning is done when moving out of your old residence or before moving into your new residence. Again this is a DEEP cleaning, not just simply someone mopping the floors and wiping the counters. A Pre/Post Occupational Cleaning is washing of all windows, washing of all walls, cleaning of light fixtures and ceiling fans, deep clean and disinfect of all bathrooms, deep clean and disinfect of the kitchen, cleaning out of kitchen cupboards, deep cleaning of the stove and oven, moving of all furniture to clean underneath and behind it, cleaning of floors, skirtings and corners of the rooms, scrubbing with a toothbrush your cabinet hinges, light switches, power outlets, window frames, door handles etc.

This is just as basic list of all that gets done during this type of cleaning. When we are done you can move into your new home (which we know it’s already very stressful when moving) without having to wipe a counter, cupboard, smell the previous owners, it will feel like HOME, NEW, and CLEAN.

The price of a Pre/Post Occupational Cleaning includes: 2 – 6 team members (depending on the size of your home), 1 – 2 supervisors, all chemicals, all equipment, all tools and traveling.

Make provision for yourself and stay protected, you will never know in the long run what hidden trouble might pop up and you could have prevented such an incident. It is just like taking out life insurance, you might not need it now but you will need it later…

Below are some of the victims we came across that fell into the trap of their own negligence.
